Statistics Canada Releases its current Report on the Employment Services Industry

Annually, Statistics Canada surveys companies engaged in temporary staffing, permanent placement, executive search, and contract staffing. Carecor participated in the survey along with almost 600 other firms from across Canada. Some data from the just-released 2006 survey are as follows:

• The Employment Services Sector represents an $8.0 billion industry, with revenues up 8.6% from the prior year.
• Ontario dominates the market with 56.9% of the share of the national industry
• 70% of the revenues of these firms come from temporary staffing services
• The majority of the sales were made to the business sector, with the government and public institutions representing about 11% of the sales.
