Laboratory Courier Services (Kingston Public Health Laboratory) Awarded to Carecor

Carecor has been awarded the Laboratory Courier Services (Kingston Public Health Laboratory) to transport laboratory specimens, water samples, pharmaceuticals, mail, supplies and other items in the Kingston and surrounding areas. The contract commences August 1, 2009. "We were excited to be awarded this contract in eastern Ontario and playing an important role in the delivery of efficient and high quality patient care", said Tom Kobayashi, Carecor's Director Transportation Services.
The Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion (OAHPP) is an arm's-length government agency dedicated to protecting and promoting the health of all Ontarians and reducing inequities in health. The OAHPP Public Health Laboratories (PHL) provide clinical and environmental laboratory testing, related expert advice and research in support of the prevention and control of infectious diseases and the protection and promotion of the public's health in Ontario. PHL operates 12 fully accredited medical laboratories throughout Ontario, including a central laboratory in Toronto and regional laboratories located in Windsor, London, Hamilton, Thunder Bay, Timmins, Sault Ste Marie, Sudbury, Orillia, Peterborough, Ottawa and Kingston. The PHL performs over 4 million laboratory tests annually.
